Eleven-a-side field hockey on blue turf. Pick your nation and play four quarters: dribble with the stick, push-pass into space, and wind up a hit or a drag flick — but a goal only counts when it's struck inside the shooting circle. Tackle from in front, because a foul from behind in your own circle hands them a penalty corner.

Controls: Arrows / WASD run, Shift sprint. J or Z pass (or switch player). Hold K, X or Space to wind up a shot and let go to hit it. L or C to tackle. On a phone: direction pad on the left; TACKLE, SPRINT, PASS and SHOOT on the right.

How to play Field Hockey

Field Hockey is an eleven-a-side hockey game on blue turf. You pick a nation and play four quarters against another, controlling whichever of your players is best placed.

Controls: Arrows / WASD run, Shift sprint. J or Z pass (or switch player). Hold K, X or Space to wind up a shot and let go to hit it. L or C to tackle. On a phone: direction pad on the left; TACKLE, SPRINT, PASS and SHOOT on the right.

Tips

  • A goal only counts if the shot is struck inside the shooting circle, so get into the D before you shoot.
  • Hold the shoot button to wind up a harder hit. Inside the circle, a full wind-up lifts the ball as a drag flick, which is harder for the keeper to stop.
  • Tackle from in front or from the side. Tackling from behind is a foul, and in your own circle it gives the other team a penalty corner.
  • Look for a teammate with a clear lane before you pass. Passes into a crowd get cut out.
  • If the defenders close you down, cut sideways and keep the ball moving rather than running straight into them.
