How to play Hellfire Arena

Hellfire Arena is a fast first-person arena shooter. Ten waves of demons pour out of four portals: imps that throw fireballs, charging brutes, floating eyes that spit plasma, and a fiend lord on waves 5 and 10. You start with a shotgun and pick up a chaingun and a rocket launcher as the waves go on.

Controls: Click to capture the mouse, then: mouse to look, WASD to move, left click to fire, Shift or Space to dash, Q or the mouse wheel to swap weapons. On a phone: left stick moves, drag on the right to look; hold FIRE, tap DASH and SWAP.

Tips

• Never stop moving. Fireballs fly in a straight line, so strafing sideways makes most of them miss.
• Dash halves the damage of anything that hits you mid-dash. Use it to break out when brutes corner you.
• The shotgun is deadly up close but its pellets spread at range, so switch to the chaingun for the floating eyes.
• Keep rockets for the fiend lord and for tight packs, but don't fire them at a demon right next to you, because the blast hurts you too.
• Avoid the lava pools. Your shotgun shells slowly trickle back, so you're never left completely empty.
