Off-Road 4x4
FreeAn expedition across open country in a lifted 4x4 — no road, just a chain of checkpoint flags over hills, through rivers, mud and snow, and around the rocks. Shift into low range to crawl up steep climbs, don't cross a slope so steep the truck rolls, and keep out of water deep enough to flood the engine. Three stages against the clock, with gold, silver and bronze times to beat.
Controls: Up / W gas, Down / S or Space brake (and reverse), Left / Right or A / D steer, L to switch low range on and off, R to recover the truck to the last flag (+5 s). On a phone: steering on the left; RECOVER, LOW RANGE, BRAKE and GAS on the right.

How to play Off-Road 4x4
Off-Road 4x4 is an off-road expedition with no road at all. On each of three stages you drive a lifted 4x4 to a chain of checkpoint flags across hills, rivers, mud and snow, steering round rocks. Your time decides whether you earn gold, silver or bronze.
Controls: Up / W gas, Down / S or Space brake (and reverse), Left / Right or A / D steer, L to switch low range on and off, R to recover the truck to the last flag (+5 s). On a phone: steering on the left; RECOVER, LOW RANGE, BRAKE and GAS on the right.
Tips
- Switch to low range (L) before a steep climb. It is slow but can pull up slopes that just spin the wheels in high range.
- Watch the tilt gauge. If the truck turns red you are crossing too steep a slope, so turn up or down the hill instead of along it.
- Shallow water and mud slow you down, but water over about a metre floods the engine and costs 8 seconds.
- A yellow beam of light and the arrow at the top of the screen point to the next flag.
- If you get stuck, press R. It costs 5 seconds, which is usually less than trying to wriggle free.
